TO THE HOP POLE BATH
The Hop Pole Bath is the flagship Bath Ales pub. A firm favourite on the Bath pub & restaurant scene, we are a family friendly and dog friendly pub located directly opposite The Royal Victoria Park children’s play area (BA1 3AR)
A traditional pub serving a selection of well kept real ales including Bath Ales Infamous Gem (4.1% abv), the lighter session ale Prophecy (3.8% abv)and the aptly named Lansdown IPA (5% abv)for those who prefer something a little stronger on the hops and the ABV!
A wide selection of lagers, ciders, wines, spirits and soft drinks are also available. Including an extensive Gin & Fever Tree tonic range.
Whilst we have a real focus on maintaining our establishment as a proper English pub, sadly of which so few still remain since the gastro era began, we offer a good selection of homemade pub dishes, some more interesting seasonal dishes and grazing options for those who do not wish to eat a full blown meal.
All of our dishes are made here at the pub using local suppliers which include Wings of St. Mawes for our daily delivery of fish, Arther David of Bristol for fruit and vegetables, Olives et Al of Sturminster Newton and Spanish supplier Mevalco for our more artisanal produce…
Sample food menus are available further down the page and you can see what other people think of our food on our Trip Advisor and Google pages…
We look forward to welcoming you soon!
"Our cosy country pub in the heart of Bath with its secret courtyard garden"
Our menu reflects our wide range of customers and the times they visit. You can enjoy a quick lunch relaxing in the bar, a delicious dinner when you can’t be bothered to cook in the week or a family get together in the garden.
You can choose from great pub classics like thick-cut ham, egg and chips or British beef, smoked bacon & cheddar burger with rocket & chutney to name but two. We also feature specials taking advantage of seasonal fresh ingredients.
Out Sunday Roasts get great reviews too – first choose your meat then add duck fat roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, seasonal veg & gravy – perfect!
Take a look at our menus below, please note that the Sunday menu is a sample only and dishes may change from time to time.
"I was absolutely blown away by the Sunday Roast. From the melt in your mouth prime rib to the Yorkshire pudding - delicious"
A TASTE OF BATH AND BEYOND
We are proud of our roots and serve a range of Bath Ales alongside some cask ales and other draught beers from further afield alongside some great ciders.
We change our draught range regularly but you’ll often find Bath Ales award winning amber ale Gem, the light, refreshing SPA and Bounders cider on hand pull.
We serve up a fine range of hand-picked wines and unexpected twists spirits too. Why not create a Bloody Mary from our ‘build your own’ menu?
Whatever you choose, you can be sure of a genuine welcome from one of team.
"Bath Ales' rich and diverse range is sure to satisfy lovers of each and every kind of real ale and cider too"
